Chapter 4-9 Checkmate
The white doors swung open, Ichogo was holding onto the door handle with Darrtaa and A yelling at him. "What the hell are you doing!?", shouted A. Ichogo stopped and his mind became less foggy. What am I doing? Deception did not turn to the new guests either. Instead, he took a sip of his ice cold tea. "Despite your efforts to keep me in here while we negotiated, that short moment when you entered here allowed me to gain access to the outside, and your friend's mind." The three who were left outside looked at the fragment sitting in his chair and drinking tea. His figure, his face, much of his appearance looked like Baka except for the red skin, suit, horns, and ears. "Which fragment is this?", asked Darrtaa. Baka glared at quietly celebrating devil, "That's Deception. Since he hasn't ran away yet, he must want to make a deal with someone. Then later it will bite them in the ass." Deception continued his chess game, "Actually my offer extends to all of you. You'll find that there isn't much of another choice anyways." Ichogo clenched his fists tightly in quiet rage. Not only did this thing use him, it wants to boss him around in person too. "I know where every fragment in this prison is located and I can manipulate the cameras to some extent. I'll help you find the one Baka can't locate but I want you to all to give up trying to incorporate me into one being. Refuse….and the alarm that should have gone off when this door opened will ring madly." Another stupid move, Baka was hit by the sudden realization. There's no way Untoten wouldn't place an alarm for Deception's cell. "We are trying to bring Christian back. You are a part of him and we need you to get him back to normal. No fragment will be an exception so there isn't any who will run around after this.", argued A. Deception moved yet another chess piece and gave an evil smile to Baka. His expression conveyed a clear message, Then it looks like your little secret won't sit well with the others will it? He felt sick giving in but it was the only way. "We need his help. At least until we get Greed out of his cell. Maybe he'll be less of a bastard….than usual." In silence, Darrtaa began to become filled with hate. The very word "greed" brought up painful truths of his less fortunate home and how corporate tycoons had more than enough money to last a person over ten lifetimes. However, Christian is a generous and kind friend, he couldn't believe that Greed would be anything more than a small child, like Innocence. "Very good, now Greed's powers have been waxing and waning these last few days. I honestly have no clue as to why, but I do know that he is not in a cell like mine. Although, he is heavily guarded and I doubt you little device works anymore." The cloaking device was fried just like the radios on the corpses that littered the floor outside. "This is where the art of deception comes in." He moved a bishop to capture the opposing, invisible player's rook. A observed the game and studied the remaining pieces. Deception appeared in even combat with his opponent but A could not figure out why both sides were the same color. "I will keep all of us safe from the impending wave of Albtraums until Greed is released. It is there that we will convince him to aid you four and then we part ways." Deception's bishop was taken, but he counted the offending piece with his last knight. "Why should we trust you? You already used me once.", growled Ichogo. "Simple, each of you and Greed will cause havoc here and weaken Untoten in the process." The invisible opponent's pieces moved accordingly, they were now defending the black king at all costs. "Anything that weakens him….", he slid a knight across the board, "….benefits me. Checkmate." For the first time, Deception got out of his chair and began to walk out of the cell. A had to ask, "Why were both sides black? They have white to determine who moves first you know." Being only slightly taller than Baka, he turned to A and looked up at her. "My opponent uses flashy obsidian pieces, while I merely use humble plastic. Obviously, my opponent was given the courtesy of the first move." Even though all four of them were clueless to who his opponent was, they did not have time to ask. The call for these guards would happen soon and they had to hurry to the sixth floor.
Deception is free and his own plans have already gone into effect.
